The Mammoth Grey Sunflower, or Helianthus, is a garden favorite that is prized for its exceptionally large blooms. Here’s why Mammoth Grey Sunflowers are the perfect addition to your landscape:

Blooms: The Mammoth Grey Sunflower has classic, bright yellow petals and the blooms can reach up to twelve inches wide. Bees, butterflies and hummingbirds are attracted to the showy flowers.

Sunlight: Sunflowers grow best and will produce the most blooms when exposed to full sun. However, they can tolerate some partial shade.

Water and Soil: Mammoth Grey Sunflower prefers moist soil that is well-draining. Water regularly while seeds are germinating and while the plant is young.

Planting: Sow sunflower seeds directly in the garden after the last frost has passed. Sunflower seeds are typically planted ½-1 inch deep and about 6 inches apart. It is best to refer to the seed packet for more specific instructions.

Landscape Use: Sunflowers are an excellent choice for pollinator gardens, native gardens, or to attract pollinators to vegetable gardens. They work well as borders or planted together in small groups.
